Wizard of Oz

The Wizard of Oz is an online slot by WMS that’s based on the popular book by L. Frank Baum. It sees you join Dorothy, the Cowardly Lion, the Tin Man, and the Scarecrow as they set off in search of the Emerald City to find rich rewards.

WMS is one of the oldest online slot manufacturers in the world, apart from Barcrest, and it’s responsible for creating several Wizard of Oz sequel slots such as Road to Emerald City and Not in Kansas Anymore, as well as other popular online slot games like Raging Rhino.

The first WMS Wizard of Oz online slot captures the imagination by featuring drawings of the original film characters such as Judy Garland as Dorothy, and including several exciting special features such as Glinda the Good Witch and Winged Monkey.

You can play the Wizard of Oz with stakes of 30p to £150 per spin, and the top prize that’s available is worth a jaw-dropping fifty thousand times your bet!

The blue skies of sunny Kansas form the background for Wizard of Oz, and we’re sure that you’ll instantly recognise the familiar face of Dorothy, who is used as one of the game’s most valuable symbols.

The other characters and objects that can appear on the five-by-three reel set include the tornado whipping Dorothy’s house into the air, the ruby slippers, a State Fair balloon, the Wicked Witch of the West, Toto sat inside a picnic hamper, Dorothy’s family home, the game logo, a “Jackpot” symbol, the Emerald City, and a picture of the Tin Man, the Cowardly Lion, and the Scarecrow.

To begin playing the game, you must decide how much you wish to stake per spin, and the sliding arrow that runs along the bottom of the screen allows you to opt for £0.30, £0.60, £0.90, £1.20, £1.50, £1.80, £2.10, £2.40, £2.70, £3, £4.50, £6, £7.50, £9, £12, £15, £18, £21, £22.50, £24, £27, £30, £37.50, £45, £52.50, £60, £67.50, £75, £82.50, £90, £105, £120, £135 or £150.

There’s also an Auto Play button that lets you set the game to spin automatically at your chosen bet size and a link to the paytable which explains the rules and value of each symbol.

Wild Symbol

The wild symbol in the Wizard of Oz online slot is the Wizard of Oz logo, and it can replace all symbols except the Feature and Jackpot symbol to help contribute towards winning combinations.

Scatter Symbol

The scatter (or feature, as it’s referred to in the game’s paytable) symbol is the image of the Emerald City, and it has the potential to trigger the Oz Pick Feature.

Bonus Round

WMS has included a variety of bonus features in the Wizard of Oz online slot to make the gameplay as thrilling as possible.

Should three Emerald City feature symbols appear on the first, third, and fifth reel on the same spin, you’re awarded the Oz Pick feature.

By picking one of the items on the screen, you’ll either receive an instant cash prize of around five to ten times your total bet, the Winged Monkey Feature or the Road to Emerald City Feature. N.B., you will only qualify for the Emerald City Feature if you’re playing the game with all thirty paylines enabled.

Winged Monkey Feature gives you eight free games, and at the start of the bonus, a special Winged Monkey Wild symbol is added to the middle reel. Whenever it appears, monkeys run onto the screen to turn random symbols into wilds. Plus, if three Winged Monkey Free Spins symbols come into view on Reels 1, 3, and 5, you gain additional free spins.

The Road to Emerald City Feature prompts you to pick one of the emeralds shown to you on the screen. The emerald may reveal a cash reward of between thirty and three hundred times your line bet, a character location or the Emerald City.

  • If you’re sent to the Wicked Witch Castle, you get to pick a Gold Charm which can award between thirty and one hundred and fifty times your bet.
  • If you’re sent to Cowardly Lion Dark Forest, you must select a Gold Charm which gives you up to five hundred times your bet.
  • If you’re sent to Tin Man Apple Orchard, you get a Gold Charm containing between one hundred and seven hundred and fifty times your bet.
  • If you’re sent to Scarecrow Cornfield, you pick a Gold Charm which reveals up to one thousand times the line bet.
  • If the emerald reveals the Emerald City, you receive a cash prize, the value of which depends on what character you arrive at the city with.

The Glinda the Good Witch Bonus can be randomly awarded during any base game spin, and it turns between one and five reels into expanding wild reels.
